Wayside motel

Wayside Motel
Wayside Motel is a Dallas-based southern grunge band blending gritty blues, heavy-hitting rock, and raw emotion. Their sound is unpolished, unapologetic, and deeply rooted in real-life experiences.
Featured in KXT and The Dallas Observer, the band made a name for themselves in the local music scene before taking a hiatus in 2023. Now, they're back with a clear sight on their future.

The STory

Before forming Wayside Motel, Cable Foreman (vocals/rhythm guitar), Hunter Stafford (lead guitar), and Arturo Offutt-Garza (drums) lived as hitchhikers and train hoppers; crossing paths and traveling together at different times. Their journey led them to Dallas in early 2022, where Hunter brought Cable from his hometown of Mena, Arkansas, to record music at MediaTech (where he and Arturo were studying recording arts).
What started as casual sessions quickly evolved into a full band, with a rotating cast of musicians helping shape the early sound. The first iteration of Wayside Motel took off, building a strong following in the Dallas music scene. However, in 2023, the band went on hiatus following the departure of Cable’s brother, Brendon Foreman (harmonica), who moved to Florida, and Michael Mack (original lead guitarist/producer of Eleven AM Checkout), who relocated to Seattle to pursue his solo career.

Rebirth

Now, Wayside Motel is back with a solidified lineup and a fresh creative direction. Billy Kane (bass), known for his work with Willy and the Wild Cards, brings a rock-solid foundation and a new level of energy to the rhythm section. His dynamic playing adds a fresh groove to the band’s sound, making every track hit harder. Meanwhile, Hunter Stafford (lead guitar) is helping steer the band into new territory, refining their style while staying true to the raw, storytelling-driven sound that defines Wayside Motel. With a mix of old favorites and new material, the band is gearing up for a string of releases, including the return of fan favorites Finally Sober, Check It Out, and Leech, alongside the rerelease of their acoustic EP Live at Stafford Studios. On top of that, Wayside Motel will be debuting a brand new single, Bad Credit (Gold Tooth, and a Pistol)—marking the next chapter in their evolution. What’s Next? With a full-length album in the works and shows starting in February 2025, Wayside Motel is ready to hit the stage again. Stay tuned for tour dates, new releases, and plenty of surprises along the way.
